Portmore Empire leader Vybz Kartel, has made his first public statement since singing a deal with the gay community in Europe.
Last week Dancehall HipHop broke news that Kartel whose real name is Adidja Palmer allegedly signed a deal known as the Reggae Compassionate act with gay rights activist on his recent tour of Europe. Copies of the signed document flooded the internet over the past week, resulting in Kartel feeling the heat from dancehall fans.
Kartel have since been shying away from the public due to the amount of attention the signing of the deed has drawn on him. Until Wednesday Vybz spoke to Gleaner journalists.
“Kartel would not confirm the details but questioned why there was a brouhaha over his signing the document. “Yes, I did. What’s the big deal? So what if I did?” he asked before hanging up the phone.” (Jamaica Gleaner)
