Nicki Minaj And Rihanna To Appear On Japan Benefit Album

Trinidad native rapper Nicki Minaj and Bajan popstar Rihanna will appear on a new Universal Music digital album specially made to aid Japan through Red Cross.

Both Caribbean decent celebrities waive their royalty fees for tracks that will appear on the album, which will help raised funds for the victims of the devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan.

“Let’s continue to keep the people of Japan in our prayers! We are all heartbroken for u,” Rihanna Tweeted.

The digital only album will be released through Universal Music Group and will also feature tracks from Justin Bieber, U2, Bon Jovi, and possibly Lady Gaga.

A Japanese Red Cross spokeperson said, “we are doing it only digitally because it is faster, and this will be a worldwide release. The plan is to have it available later this week.”

All of the artists appearing on the album have already agreed to waive royalty fees to provide the maximum amount of funds to Japan.

All proceeds from the album, which should be available later this week, will be sent directly to the Japan Red Cross.
