Teacha’s Pet Launched Without Vybz Kartel

Vybz Kartel is building a strong reputation as a no show deejay. The Portmore Empire boss was a no show at the launch of his new reality TV show Teacha’s Pet on Tuesday at the LIME head office.

The 12-episode reality TV series set to debut on CVM TV this Friday starring controversial deejay Vybz Kartel. Several excuse was given for his absence, including him being at the doctor, however the show went on without the main man.

20 females from all over the world were brought together to live in an upper St Andrew mansion to compete for the attention of Kartel, with the hope of becoming the teacha’s pet.

The shows producer, Carleene Samuels, said that Teacha’s Pet is a combination of all the dating and reality shows currently airing on television globally, and this, she said, adds to its uniqueness. “The girls will face a number of challenges and activities which will lead to elimination in order to arrive at the teacha’s pet,” she explained.

TV personality Amelia “Milk” Sewell and Vybz Kartel’s protege Popcaan will be on hand to assist the deejay in choosing the right girl. Milk will play the role of substitute teacher.

The director for the show, Jason ‘Jay Will’ Williams, noted that this will be his first reality TV show, and the response is overwhelming. Williams said he get calls for ladies to be part of the show, with hopefuls from Australia, Trinidad, Iran, Iraq, Canada and Jamaica sending in applications. Canada had the biggest international response, while Trinidad submitted the majority of applications for the Caribbean region.

Teacha’s Pet, which will make its debute on CVM TV tomorrow, will be carefully edited for to attract a PG rating. Uncut and unrated version will be available on LIME TV and online.
