Alicia Keys In Jamaica Recording For New Album

Internationally acclaimed singer Alicia Keys is currently in Jamaica doing some recording at the luxurious Geejam Studio in Portland.

A highly placed source close to a local producer Keys is working with told Urban Islandz that she is recording material for her fifth album, due later this year.

“Her management team made the link with us to do some work on a single for her upcoming project, and from there everything was organized,” The source said. “She is really easy to work with, she is a really nice and talented person, she knows music.”

The source also said Keys is recording a duet with a local artiste but he can’t divulge the details.

The Geejam studio complex houses three deluxe cabins, a self-contained villa, spa, gym, swimming pool and restaurant. Additionally, reports claim that the privacy Geejam studios offer assured Keys safe accommodation.

Alicia Keys previously worked with local acts including Baby Cham on “Ghetto Story” remix, Junior Reid on “No One” remix and Mavado on the 2009 single “New York’s Gully.”

Keys also previously performed in Jamaica at the 2004 Jamaica Jazz and Blues festival.

Alicia Keys won 14 Grammy awards throughout her career, including 5 in one night for her debut “Songs In A Minor.”
