Judge Orders Release Of Video Tapes In Vybz Kartel Murder Trial

Supreme Court Judge Majorie Cole Smith has ordered the release of the recordings in Vybz Kartel murder case involving the death of Clive “Lizard” Williams.

Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, and his co-accused were remanded into custody when they appeared in court on Friday (April 13).

The Judge, however, ordered prosecutors to release the tapes after the “Cake Soap” deejay’s attorney, Valerie Neita Robertson, told the court that she has yet to receive a copy. Smith set an April 23rd deadline for the release of the recordings.

Police officers told the media late last year that they are in possession of video footage linking Kartel, along with co-accused Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Calvin Haye and three other men to the murder.

Williams was allegedly beaten to death last summer at a home in Havendale believed to be belonging to Kartel. According to police report, he was killed over a missing firearm.

Vybz Kartel and his co-accused returns to court on April 27.
