Jay-Z Support Obama On Gay Marriage

Rap mogul Jay-Z is the latest heavy weight celebrity to back U.S. President Barrack Obama on his support for gay marriage.

During an interview with CNN for his “Made in America” festival in Philadelphia, the Roc Nation honcho said the issue of gay marriage is “holding the country back.”

“I’ve always thought it as something that’s still holding the country back,” Jay-Z said. “What people do in their own homes is their business. You can choose to love whoever you love. It’s no different than discriminating against blacks. It’s discrimination plain and simple.”

The “Young Forever” rapper said discriminating against gays is no different from discriminating against blacks.

“I think it’s the right thing to do, so whether it costs him votes or not… Again, it’s not about votes, it’s about people,” Jay-Z laments. “I think it’s the right thing to do as a human being.”

Jay-Z is the headlining act at the inaugural “Budweiser Made in America” music festival this Labor Day weekend in Philadelphia.
