2 Chainz Say Arrest Was Over A For Finger Ring “They Tried To Assassinate My Swag”

Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz is speaking out about his arrest at New York’s LaGuardia Airport on Tuesday. TSA officials detained the rapper after they found what they believed was a “brass knuckles” in his luggage. But according to the rapper it was just a four finger ring.

2 Chainz, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, was taken into custody and charged with a misdemeanor possession of a criminal weapon.

“They tried to assassinate my character, they tried to assassinate my swag,” 2 Chainz told MTV News. “It was just a negative dilemma earlier where someone misconstrued a piece of jewelry for a weapon and stuff.”

“Me just trying to explain it was getting too frustrating,” he added. “Me just trying to explain my occupation and then when they finally got to the jail and everybody knew who I was, then they started calling their kids and putting me on the phone with their kids. It was like a weird experience.”

The Def Jam rapper was release that same day and was able to performed at a “Club Paradise” concert with Drake in Raleigh, North Carolina.

“Sorry to alll the negative people who wanted me out the way…kant let u have the game bak that ez,” he tweeted after his release.
