Nicki Minaj Ignites Pepsi And Coke War After Getting American Idol Nod

There is a reported war brewing behind the scenes at American Idol as the next phase of auditions draws near.

According to reports, longtime rivals Pepsi and Coco-Cola are feuding over one of the producers pick for a judge, Nicki Minaj.

Minaj, who has been the most popular female rapper over the last few years, has made a name for herself with her unique style and fashion sense. Nicki Minaj is now at the top of the list for the vacant seat on American Idol season 12. But one of the shows main sponsor, Coke, is not too happy about that.

Nicki Minaj recently signed a multimillion dollar deal with Pepsi, which includes commercials, tours, and a global campaign. Coke execs are not too thrill with her sitting in the judges panel. American Idol found themselves in a similar problem with Jennifer Lopez endorsement deal with Fiat, since Ford is also a sponsor of the show.

Fox and FremantleMedia execs have their eyes on music icon Mariah Carey, country star Keith Urban, latin singer Enrique Iglesias, and hip-hop star Nicki Minaj.
