Embattled dancehall star Vybz Kartel has endured the most difficult year of his life this past year.
The end of this month will mark one year since the “Dancehall Hero” was arrested in Kingston and slapped with multiple charges including two separate murder charge, gun possession, and conspiracy.
Sources close to the former Portmore Empire head exclusively told Dancehall HipHop the he is optimistic about his upcoming trial.
“Despite the severity of the charge and the fight from authorities, Vybz is in very good spirit and is looking forward to the trial,” the source said.
“We have a strong legal team that is working very hard to ensure he will walk free,” the source added.
Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, along with several members of the gaza group including Shawn Storm, Gaza Slim and Stylist Calvin Haye are jointly charged in the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams and Barrington “Bossie” Burton.
Law enforcement officials say they have a mountain of evidence against the dancehall star including video and audio recordings.
Vybz Kartel murder trial starts November, while his conspiracy trial was pushed back to October.
