Snoop’s recent trip to Jamaica was much more than a spiritual transformation for the once hardcore West Coast rapper.
Snoop Lion, better known as Snoop Dogg, along with Reed’s Ginger Brew and Causes.com are joining forces to provide fresh fruits and vegetable to school children in Jamaica.
Kurupt Explains Why Snoop Changes Name To “Snoop Lion”
Snoop formed an alliance with the two companies to raise awareness for his latest non-profit initiative, Mind Gardens Project, which was established to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to schooled aged children in Jamaica through organic community gardens.
In a statement sent to Urban Islandz, Snoop Lion said he felt compelled to give back to Jamaica after undergoing some inspirational changes during his visit to the island earlier this year.
“When I went to Jamaica we took time to visit these communities in Kingston, and I was deeply affected by the poverty and lack of good food available to the children,” Snoop Lion said. “No child should go hungry. After all the inspiration Jamaica had provided me, I felt compelled to create a program to give back to the community.”

Snoop Dogg’s Mind Gardens Project is currently doing charitable work in sections of Kingston including Tivoli Gardens and Trench Town.
