Jamaica has the toughest crowd to perform for most artists in any genre. Beer bottles usually take an artist off stage when they fail to shine.
But the overseas audience might be following the Jamaican way of voicing their disgust with an artist.
According to word reaching Dancehall HipHop, dancehall star Popcaan was bottled during his performance in Harare, Zimbabwe on December 31st.
Popcaan, who ended his set at sting prematurely due to an on stage fiasco with Black Ryno, was not available for a comment on the issue.
However, sources close to the deejay told Dancehall HipHop that there was a handful of unruly fans in the venue who through beer cans on the stage.
“It was a minor situation and security quickly get things under control,” the source said. “Popcaan love his Zimbabwe fans and the performance went well but a small group youths tried to start something.”
There are also some rumors that Poppy was bottled by some fans of Black Ryno.
Tommy Lee also found himself at the receiving end of bottles at a concert in Guyana over the holidays.
Zimbabwe dancehall star Winky D also performed at the event and got good reception.
