Veronica Campbell-Brown Seek To Clear Name Doping Scandal

Veronica Campbell-Brown tested positive for a banned substance rocked the Jamaican athletic world last week.

According to reports, the Jamaican sprinter was tested positive for a diuretic in her A sample which is banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

A banned substance was also found in her B sample, Lasix, which is a water pill use to treat hypertension and congestive heart failure.

Lasix is used to mask the detection of performance enhancing drugs.

Campbell-Brown was tested positive following the Jamaica International Invitational meet in Kingston last month.

New reports suggest that Veronica Campbell-Brow told the amaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) about using a product prior to her participation in the meet.

The Olympic champion will still have to face a hearing because there was no Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) in place.

Sticky situation.
