The presiding judge, Justice Bryan Sykes, was reportedly occupied with another trial.

Vybz Kartel’s lawyer Christian Tavares Finson asked prosecutors for a list of the witnesses who will testify in the trial. Tavares Finson also requested a copy of the indictment.

Vybz Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, was charged with the murder of promoter Barrington “Bossie” Burton. Nigel Thompson and Lenburgh McDonald are also both charged for Burton’s murder.

Vybz Kartel received bail on the charge earlier this year but remained incarcerated on another murder charge.

While behind bars, the former Portmore Empire deejay released a new album titled The Voice of the Jamaican Ghetto – Incarcerated But Not Silenced (Roots & Culture).

The album is now available on iTunes.
