Dancehall Reacts To Vybz Kartel’s Acquittal On Murder Charge

Vybz Kartel is currently locked behind bars at the remand center but he is breathing a sigh of relief today after a not guilty verdict in the first of two murder charges against.

Yesterday Home Circuit Court judge Bryan Sykes instructed the jury to return a not guilty verdict after the prosecution case fell apart a week and a half after the trial started.

Dancehall has started to react to the verdict and a possible release for Vybz Kartel in the coming months if he is also freed on his second murder charge in November.

A popular dancehall star, who is a rival to Vybz Kartel, exclusively told Dancehall HipHop that he is delighted about the verdict.

“Addi have a lot to contribute to dancehall so the verdict can only be good for the business,” the popular deejay said, requesting anonymity. “I personality didn’t rate how the police deal with the situation because it seems them a carry feelings for him. A make up witness name phanton and all them things. So I am happy he is free of that charge.”

A popular producer also echoed similar sentiments that Jamaican authorities were trying to set up Vybz Kartel.

“The whole conspiracy thing a come to light now and it is just shameful,” the popular producer told Dancehall HipHop. “I hope good sense will prevail and them free him on the second charge because it is just wrong to send an innocent man to prison.”

Fans of Vybz Kartel and one of his most loyal protege Gaza Slim were ecstatic outside the Home Circuit Court after the verdict was read.

“I’m feeling superb. My prayers have not gone in vain,” Gaza Slim said.

Fans were chanting “free the Worl’Boss” outside the court as police officers escorted him to jail.

Vybz Kartel will remain behind bars until his second murder trial in November.

  6. The Judiciary system in Jamaica need to enter into the modern era…It’s much more easier than what is there at the moment…The House of Parliament needs to the get their acts together rather than acting & reacting over trivial stuff while persons who are in the penal system have to wait for a very excruciating length of time for their cases to be tried, because of the avalanche of back logged cases that take eons before they are processed rendering the system inept. Then there is the matter of the collection and protection of evidence that seems like a puzzle or riddle that befuddled our security forces or is it a case that they chose to ignore these standard procedure a go” willy-nilly” on their own like some out of control mavericks or is it that most cases are not what they appears to be , and the officers just picked randomly who they want to pinned the crime on hoping that the judiciary system will follow them on their route to carnality? or is it a collection of all the above mentioned? I still think that the onuses rests on those who are part of the highest court of the land consisting of those in the lower & upper houses of parliament to debate this thing out a past some laws concerning this matter. It’s matter of urgency because they’re several people being locked behind bars for crimes that they have not committed, and spent several years without a trial date being set , and after exoneration they have no resources to sue the state. So parliament we demand that you get your acts together and do something about it, we don’t want an innocent person to being locked away nor do we want a criminal mind to walk the streets knowing very well that the justice system is a joke.
