American sprint veteran Justin Gatlin won silver and Jamaican sprinter Nester Carter won bronze.

“It’s always great to get back your title,” Usain Bolt said. “I’m happy with myself I got it done.”

Bolt lost his world title two years ago due to an unfortunate false start, but proves today that he can win over and over again.

“I never look at things as easy. I put in hard work,” Bolt added. “That’s why I’m a champion. I keep pushing myself as a champion, no matter what. I push myself because that’s what it takes.”

Bolt and Justin Gatlin, who are not the best of friends, congratulate each other after the race.

“For him to say to me, ‘Hey, you’re the guy who pushes me to go even faster.’ I’m honored in that,” Justin Gatlin said.
