Tanaka, who recorded “Neu Chicago” in 2009, is suing Nicki Minaj and the writers of “Starships” for an undisclosed amount.

“Starships” was written by RedOne, real name Nadir Khayat, Wayne Hector, Rami Yacoub, and Carl Falk.

“We believe they are similar to the point that it is nearly impossible for it to be a coincidence,” Tanaka’s lawyer, Christopher Niro told the Chicago Tribune.
