Jamaicans Can Now View “The Voice” Live On RETV

After receiving heavy backlash from viewers, Television Jamaica (TVJ) has backed down and allowed “The Voice” to be viewed live on RETV.

The talent competition has been garnering a lot of viewers in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean, thanks to a spirited audition from reggae sonstress Tessanne Chin.

Jamaicans have been asking for local channels to broadcast the American Talent show, paving the way for TVJ to hammer out a deal with NBC. But that deal will only broadcast The Voice two hours after the live showing on NBC.

That angered viewers who bashed the local TV station on social media, even starting an anti TVJ Facebook page.

Last week TVJ executives announced that the station will air The Voice live on its cable sister channel Reggae Entertainment TV (RETV). The show will still be aired delayed on TVJ.

Tessanne Chin is being coached by Adam Levine, who is Maroon 5 lead singer and an avid lover of reggae music.

Tessanne Chin is gearing up for a tough The Voice Battle Round square off with another powerhouse in Adam Levine’s camp, Donna Allen.
