Adidja Palmer, Vybz Kartel government name, is back in the Home Circuit court today for day 32 of his highly publicized murder trial.
Kartel, along with co-accused Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Kahira Jones, André St John, and Shane Williams are on trial for the alleged murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.
Authorities told the court that Williams was beaten to death by the accused men on August 16, 2011 at a house in Havendale, St. Andrew.
On Monday, the prosecution introduced text message evidence in court that were allegedly sent by Clive “Lizard” Williams, Shawn Storm and Vybz Kartel.
In the texts sent by Williams, he became fearful for his life while en route to the house in Havendale. He begged his girlfriend to inform his sister to call police.
There were also text messages allegedly sent by Shawn Storm to Vybz Kartel on August 16, 2011 about the missing firearm.
The defense attorneys are expected to cross-examined Detective Corporal Sean Brown, who made a PowerPoint of the text messages, today in court.
The prosecution could also introduced video evidence that the judge ruled should be entered into evidence last week.
Judge issue warning to the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) over statements they released to the media that could compromise case.
Vybz Kartel attorney very upset and asked judge to haul the police commissioner and the CCN head Steve Brown before the court to warn them personally.
The judge rejected his suggestions and instead sent a written warning.
The press release from the CCN states that Vybz Kartel cronies stole a guest list at a hotel where a key witness is staying.
