Meek Mill Reacts To Prison Sentence For Probation Violation

Meek Mill is taking his 2-4 years prison sentence for probation violation positively.

The “Dreams and Nightmares” rapper has shared his reaction to news that he is going back to prison and could be gone for a while. “We go to war for our freedom,” he wrote on Instagram on Monday. “They say we equal I used to wanna play I like Randall and be a Eagle I used to play the quarterback my homie would go receiver that was until the football got flattened by a dope needle on the pavement.”

Meek Mill turned up to court in Philadelphia on Monday with his attorney, Brian McMonagle, where he learned his fate. A judge ruled that he violated his probation when he got arrested in St. Louis earlier this year for an alleged fight with an airport employee, and again this summer in New York City for popping wheelies on his motorcycle in the streets of NY. He was charged with assault in the St. Louis case and for reckless driving and endangerment for the New York case.

Both charges were eventually dropped after he took a plea deal, but the judge ruled that he violated his parole just by getting arrested. This is a big blow to Meek Mill who has been rehabilitating his image over the last few years with a number of charitable initiatives and getting more involved in his community. Meek has been getting some support from some of his celebrity peers like Kevin Hart who shared a supporting message.

“Praying for my brother [Meek Mill] right now,” Hart wrote. “God sometimes puts the toughest battles on his strongest soldiers. I’m here for you man!!!! My brother for life… Always here for you man!!! This storm will pass… Stay strong & keep your head up.”

Meek Mill will have to serve a minimum of two years in prison for violating his probation and could serve as much as four years.
