Eve Defends Herself Against Backlash From Nicki Minaj Fans

Eve was forced to defend herself from some backlash that she has been getting from Nicki Minaj fans on Twitter.

The female rap veteran is now a co-host of The Talk and on Wednesday she opened up about Nicki Minaj racy photo shoot for Paper Magazine where she posed semi-nude just barely covering up her ass-ets. According to Eve, Nicki is a nice person who is incredibly talented, but for her, she just can’t support these photos. The barbz weren’t too happy and went on the attack on Twitter.

“For me personally, as I started coming up in the business, I started realizing that young girls were looking up to me and younger people were looking up to me, and that, not that you want to be a role model, but it becomes what you become, it is what you are,” she said. Knowing how vicious Nicki Minaj fans can be, Eve ensure to let them know that she has nothing but love for The PinkPrint rapper. “As I’ve gotten older,” she added. “I’d just rather be a voice that’s uplifting. I can be a voice for those girls that might not have a voice, in a different way without showing myself off. For the Nicki fans, I love her, respect her. Go women in hip hop. It’s not my thing. I just don’t think it’s right. Personally.”

Eve shot back at Nicki Minaj’s fans on Twitter saying, “A lot of ya’ll need to calm down AND LISTEN to what I said. I am speaking from the place I am TODAY as WOMAN and how I feel NOW!” She also retweeted a tweet from one of her fans that told her that she doesn’t have to further explain herself.

“You don’t have to explain yourself to these kids. you clarified that on the show already. they hear what they want,” the tweet reads.
