Kendrick Lamar Delivers ‘DAMN. Collectors Edition’ Album [Listen]

Kendrick Lamar is ending his massive year on a high.

The Compton rapper delivers a version of his chart-topping album DAMN for collectors aka DAMN. Collectors Edition. For this edition, he released the album with the songs in reverse starting with “DUCKWORTH” and ending with “BLOOD. There is already some conspiracy that he is trying to reveal the true meaning behind the album. This is a massive year for Kendrick Lamar who received seven Grammy nominations for the project.

The 14-track album features collaborations with Rihanna on “LOYALTY.,” U2 on “XXX.,” and Zacari on the single “LOVE.” During an interview with MTV in the summer, Kendrick Lamar opened up about why he decided to drop the album in reverse, saying he got the idea from fans. “I think like a week after the album came out, [fans] realized you can play the album backwards,” K-Dot said. “It plays as a full story and even a better rhythm. It’s one of my favorite rhythms and tempos within the album. It’s something that we definitely premeditate while we’re in the studio.”
